IIAS has adopted the following refund policy with respect to refunds for fee-paying students studying locally or online. There will not be no refund in relation to the on-campus courses abroad as IIAS does not have control over the refunding policies of those universities. IIAS may refund any fees paid to IIAS only under special circumstances, which fall under the following criteria:
Category A:
Failure by IIAS to offer the course as advertised. Specifically:
- IIAS could not provide the program which is chosen by the student.
Category B:
The Student reverses the decision to pursue the course. Part refund claims under this category are acceptable only if such request is made in writing, at least 30 days prior to the scheduled commencement of the course. Documentary evidence and other prescribed documents as specified in this policy will be required to support the claim.
Important Notes
- Refund requests under category A must be made within 30 days from the announcement of the non-availability of the program.
- Refund requests under category A will be processed in full. i.e. 100% of the payment, provided if the student has not attended any academic activity.
- Reasons for refund requests such as receiving a scholarship, gaining entry to another university, medical reason etc. will be considered under Category B. IIAS shall refund up to 80% of total payment made by the student under Category B.
- For all categories, Fees paid to external awarding bodies (University Partners, etc.) and taxes paid to government or local authorities cannot be refunded, as this is beyond the control of IIAS.
Refund procedure
- A request for a refund of program fees must be submitted in writing by the student / the guardian wishing to obtain the refund.
- Refund requests under medical reason will require a certification from a SLMC registered Doctor, stating that the person is unfit to continue studies. IIAS shall retain the right to contact the relevant specialist who gave the certification to verify the accuracy of the same. In doing so, we ensure to protect the confidentiality of the student.
- A refund may be granted according to the clauses in the refund policy of IIAS. The management of IIAS shall take the final decision on refunding.
Payment of refund
- Eligible Refunds will be made within 4 weeks upon receiving a completed refund application.
- Refund payments will be made only in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR)
- Refund payments will be made by cheque, and will be made out in the name of the registered student or the relevant guardian. Payments will not be released to third parties.
Submit your refund request to the Management of IIAS and collect your acknowledgement by email.
